US road trip 07

Day 25 - Tuesday 3rd of april - Los Angeles

weather : Los Angeles - sunny - 70°F

Today we went to the Hollywood Bld. We saw Morgan Freeman and Halle Berry as she received her star on the street today. We stayed on the street during Two hours walking and shoping. Oh yeah, we finally found Mitch Buchannon! Have a look at the picture album. After a look at Los Angeles we went to see the famous Hollywood panel! As it was to far for us to take a good picture, we decided to walk to the letters (1 hour) and finaly touch the letters and even climbing on them. Then we found a nice hotel (Hollywood dowtowner motel, 69 $). As it was the last night of Cath (already!) we enjoyed a drink in a pub then finished in a nightclub.

Jour 25 - Mardi 3 avril - Los Angeles

météo: Los Angeles - ensoleillé - 22°C

Aujourd'hui on est allé sur Hollywood bld. On a vu Morgan Freeman et Halle Berry parce qu'elle recevait son étoile sur la rue aujourd'hui. On est restés environ deux heures sur le boulevard en marchant et en faisant les boutiques. Ah oui, on a enfin retrouvé Mitch Buchannon! Regardez dans l'album photos! Après une petite visite de Los Angeles, on a décidé d'aller voir les fameux panneau de Hollywood. Mais comme c'était trop loin pour prendre une bonne photo, on a décidé de grimper jusque là (1 heure). On a pu toucher les lettres et même grimper dessus. Ensuite on a trouvé un joli petit hôtel (Hollywood downtowner motel, 53 euros). Comme c'était la dernière nuit de Cath, on est allé boire un verre dans un pub puis on a fini en discothèque.

Day 26 - Wednesday 4th of april - Los Angeles - San Diego

Weather: Los Angeles - cloudy - 65°F

We had to wake up quite early this morning as Cath had her flight today. It took us one hour to get to the airport because of the traffic jam. Cath, we gonna miss you a lot... We had a really great time together. Wish you all the best... After that, we took the road 1 to go to Long Beach. where we saw the Queen Mary, visited the town and eaten on the Pier before taking the road back in direction of San Diego. We got there at 6 pm, found a really nice hotel with hot tub at 105°F, small kitchen, sofa,.... (Days Inn motel, 67 $ for two). Tonight we gonna have a drink in the downtown.

Jour 26 - Mercredi 4 avril - Los Angeles - San Diego

Météo: Los Angeles - couvert - 20°C

On devait se réveiller relativement tôt ce matin car Cath avait son vol aujourd'hui. Ca nous a pris une heure pour arriver à l'aéroport à cause du traffic. Cath, tu vas vachement nous manquer... On a passé vraiment un bon moment avec toi. On te souhaite plein de bonheur... Après ça, on a repris la route pour Long Beach où l'on a vu le Queen Mary, visité la ville et mangé sur le port avant de reprendre la route pour San Diego. Nous y sommes arrivés à 18 h, avons trouvé un bon hôtel avec jacuzzi à 40°C, petite cuisine, divan, ... (Days Inn motel, 50 eur pour deux). Ce soir, on va prendre un petit verre dans le centre ville.

Day 27 - Thursday 5th of april - San Diego

weather: San Diego - 74°F

Today, visit of the San Diego Zoo (the american 's biggest one). It cost us 25$ / pers. We stay there about 5 hours. It was really interesting. After that we took the trolley to get to the old part of San Diego with lovelies restaurants and shops. Tonight we are staying in the same hotel than yesterday. It's so nice the hot tub when you finish your day! We gonna try another nightclub tonight as the place we went yesterday wasn't realy nice.

Jour 27 - Jeudi 5 avril - San Diego

météo: San Diego - 24°C

Aujourd'hui, visite du zoo de San Diego (le plus grand zoo américain). Ca nous a coûté 20 eur par personne. On y est resté environ 5 heures, c'était vraiment interressant. Ensuite on a pris le tram pour se rendre dans le vieux San Diego avec ses charmants petits restaurants et boutiques. Ce soir on reste au même hôtel qu'hier. C'est si bien le jacuzzi quand tu rentres le soir! On va essayer un nouvelle boite ce soir parce que celle d'hier n'était pas terrible.

Day 28 - Friday 6th of april - San Diego - Phoenix (369 mls / 6h)

weather: San Diego - cloudy - 64°F

This morning, we visited the National Monument Park of San Diego. Yes, there is a park there aswell but not really interesting. There is only the Cabrillo statue and the view on the town to see. Then we went to shopping in downtown. We are a bit disappointed of San Diego, it wasn't what we were expecting. It's not as nice as we had been told. We left at 2 pm in direction of Phoenix. After only two hours, complete change of the landscape, deserts, cactus, ...We are in Arizona. The weather has also changed. sunny and temperatures going up to 97°F! The most since the beginning of our adventure. We arrived in Phoenix at 8 pm, found a motel (travel Inn, Phoenix, 55$). Then we went to a nice latino nightclub, the Eksel nights. At 3 am, it was still 85°F!

Jour 28 - Vendredi 6 avril - San Diego - Phoenix (591 kms / 6h)

météo: San Diego - nuageux - 19°C

Ce matin, nous avons visité le National Monument Park de San Diego. Oui, il en existe un là aussi mais il n'est pas très interessant. Il y a seulement la statue de Cabrillo et la vue sur l'océan à voir. Ensuite, on est allés faire les magazins dans le centre ville. On est quand même déçu de San Diego, ce n'est pas ce à quoi on s'attendait. Ce n'est pas aussi bien / beau qu'on nous avait dit. Nous sommes partis à 14h, direction Phoenix. Après seulement deux heures, changement complet de paysage; désert, cactus,... on est en Arizona. La météo, elle aussi a changée, soleil et températures allant jusqu'à 37°C! Le plus chaud depuis le début de notre aventure. Nous sommes arrivés à Phoenix à 20h, avons trouvés un hôtel (Travel Inn, Phoenix, 55$). ensuite nous sommes allés dans une chouette discothèque latino, le Eksel nights. A 3h du matin, il faisait encore 31°C

Day 29 - Saturday 7th of april - Phoenix - Alamogordo (482 mls / 7h)

weather: Phoenix - 85°F

Visit of Phoenix in the morning. We left the city at noon, in direction of El Paso. The landscapes is still the same, desert, cactus,... But the temperature is changing, it's now 64°F. We finaly decided to change a bit the destination. We would like to see the white sands tomorow thus we slept in Alamogordo (classic Inn motel, 35 $). And for finish the day in beauty we wanted to the only one nightclub of the town but it was closed!A saturday night!

Jour 29 - samedi 7 avril (Phoenix - Almogordo (771 kms / 7h)

météo: Phoenix - 29°C

Visite de Phoenix le matin. On a quitté la ville à midi en dirction de El Paso. Le paysage est toujours le même; désert, cactus,... Mais la température change, il fait maintenant 18°C. Nous avons finalement décidé de changer notre destination. Nous souhaitons voir le white sand demain donc on a trouvé un motel (classic Inn motel, 26 eur) à Almogordo. Et on voulait finir la journée dans la seule discothèque de la ville mais ele était fermée!Un samedi soir!
